Pheasants
Our fully automatic, state of the art, Indoor
Rearing Unit is capable of rearing 25,000 chicks per week up to 4 weeks of age.
The water is provided by nipple drinkers and the food by a collinson
auger system. We feed Massey Pheasant starter crumbs whilst they are inside and
bit them at 18 days of age. On days 17, 18 and 19 we put a probiotic
through the drinking system. Sprinklers are used from 14 days of age to help
acclimatise the poults ready for outdoor life. At 24
days of age the poults are put into traditional runs
and pens.
