The breeding flock consists of 12000 females and 3000 drakes into which we
introduce a proportion of caught up wild drakes.
These mallard are kept in
We also have a small breeding flock of Danish mallard; these are smaller
than our regular mallard and extremely wild. These pure Danish are ideal for
those ponds where regular mallard are reluctant to fly.
In addition to this, we have carefully introduced some of the Danish
blood into our larger flock to boost the wild instinct of our strain and
improve stamina.
All our ducks are vaccinated against duck plague and salmonella

MALLARD EGG
PRODUCTION
Our hatchery has the capacity to set 57000 mallard eggs each week, all
of which are from our own production. We do not buy duck eggs or supply
ducklings from anywhere else.
Our laying flock of
12,000 female and 3,000 drake mallard are all over wintered. For egg production they are penned at 40
females and 10 drakes in 40ft x 40ft pens and eggs are collected once a day –
usually mid-afternoon.
